10 frequently asked questions about vinyl signs:
What are vinyl signs?
Signs or graphics which are cut from vinyl by a machine linked to a computer running a design software package. Different coloured vinyls can be used to create stunning layered effects, the design possibilities are almost endless and can be completely personalised to suit you/your desired image. The vinly sign is self adhesive so can be applied to any smooth clean surface providing lasting effects, vinyl is a plastic with the same thickness and flexibility as paper but is extremely durable (see 'durability' information below).
How much do they cost?
This is perhaps the most commonly asked question and the most difficult to answer as it totally depends on your personal requirements. It is always frustrating when people won't offer a basic price guide so you can do your own calculations but it really does depend on what you want. To give you a rough estimate I have quoted a price guide within the 'SIGN SAMPLES' section of this site beside each of the pictures shown. A small but complex sign with many different coloured layers will cost more than a large but very simple sign, generally, the smaller or more basic the sign, the cheaper it will be. Again, contact us with for a no obligation free quote, you'll be suprised at how cost effective this type of signage really can be.
Durability?
Vinyl signs are totally wetherproof and once properly applied will last a minimum of 5 years (some more). My race car bodywork (see HOME PAGE) is vinyl signed and has a pretty tough life but the signage withstands regular pressure washing, polishing, greater than average exposure to heat etc.
What colours are available?
Not only is there every colour vinyl you can imaging but I also use a range of vinyl effects including gloss, carbon fibre, holographic, reflective, chrome effect, glitter, tread plate metalic etc. The more fancy vinyls are more expensive to buy so again, contact us with your requirements and sample cards are available.
Where can I stick them?
Where ever you choose! Vinyl signs can be applied to any smooth surface including glass, vehicle bodywork, plastics, metal, most wooden surfaces and many more. Some surfaces are more appropriate than others.
How are they applied?
When asking for a quote you will be given the option of applying the signs yourself. This saves you money and you will be shown how to apply the vinyl, if it is a small sign it's as easy as applying a sticker. Larger signs require a little more dexterity but all our signs are prepared for ease of application and we can fit them.
How are they removed?
Whilst they will not simply drop off under normal conditions, they are fairly simple to remove should you change your advertisement, telephone number or even your mind. More recently applied vinyl can be peeled off and the surface polished clean underneath. Older vinyl may need gently warming with a hair drier for example to assist removal.
How long do they take to produce?
Again, it depends how complex your order is and how busy we are. A single colour 1 metre banner could take as little as 20 minutes to design, produce and apply. You will be given an expected time upon ordering.
How large or small can they be?
I have produced signs as small as a wheelie bin number to those large enough to cover the sides of cars and small vans. As I explained earlier, some larger signs are simpler and therefore cheaper than small ones.
Designing a sign for you.
You may have a clear image of what you require, I can match that using a design software package. Alternatively you may only be able to provide a rough idea of what you want but are more concerned about how much it will cost, then I can design a sign to incorporate your information but stay within your buget. Either way, you can view an on-screen preview before you purchase or have a sign fitted. for more info call:
